I looked through my front door, and fall has finally reached San Jose.
I stopped by the lake to check out the action, and there wasn't any. There were a few ducks and coots, but the rest of the lake birds have departed for warmer climes. So I took some location shots... folliage and structures.
But as I was shooting the purple blossoms on the flowering bush, I heard a familiar sound... hummers! I grabbed a couple of shots and dashed back to the car for the flash. Then I spent 90 delightful minutes with my camera and tribe of Anna's Hummingbirds.
I took the preceding shots with a telephoto lens, but this last shot called for my macro lens. I hated having to get so close to the monster, but he was too pretty to pass by.
Now I'm in the mood for Halloween :-).
